Seeing our students express themselves with smiles and curiosity is crucial. Walking into a classroom that feels like home is the ultimate satisfaction. Building a community through engagement and interaction is essential. The more we understand and support each other, the better we can help each other grow. This is a place where everyone is celebrated.
It brings me great joy to witness the marvelous qualities of these individuals. Their differences provide me with valuable lessons and insights that help me grow. My role is to assist and facilitate whenever I can. It has been an absolutely wonderful experience for me.
Why should a school be devoid of fun? Fun is an essential aspect of everything. I am dedicated to assessing the "fun factor" and evaluating its impact on outcomes for the future.
Equity and Diversity
The school's hallway display aimed to showcase the distinctive qualities of its students. Through art and language, it visually appealed to viewers. The display featured quotes from each student's letter to their future self, and passersby could scan a QR code to read the entire letter. The display served as an opportunity to gain insight into the students' world through their unique perspectives and colors.
Celebrating our Unique Traits
In the portraits, there are two distinct aspects to be observed- the representational face and the inner world. The project was a gift to the students, celebrating their strengths and highlighting the beauty of their unique colors.
Putting it all together
As a final display, students' self-portraits were linked to a QR code that directed viewers to their letters to their future selves. The display also included some of the best quotes from their letters, placed next to their portraits. This was a wonderful celebration of equity and diversity.
