Writing and experience

The inspiration for our recent exploration of language came from the concept of "How to eat a poem." This metaphorical idea provided endless opportunities for students to form connections and express themselves through art. After a week of inquiry, students created visual representations of their personal metaphors. For me, it was a powerful and meaningful experience, and I hope my students felt the same.

Moreover, this project allowed us to combine various subjects, including reading, vocabulary, language analysis, poetry, and art, into one descriptive piece of writing. I believe that writing a detailed description of their artwork will deepen students' understanding and appreciation of their work. Additionally, it will provide a platform for them to share their experiences with others. Starting with reading their descriptions aloud to their parents, there are numerous opportunities for students to share their insights with the world.
