An engaged classroom

From a personal desire for self-accomplishment, I need to feel that I am doing something meaningful when I am teaching. Being immersed in the lesson starts with myself or else I feel the day did not render, and it was not fun. If the experience in the classroom is dull I will definitely feel like something is missing and it won’t leave a good feeling.

If I am engaged and fully immersed in the lesson, then I bring my students in. They have no choice! They have to get on board because the ship will sail and the journey is going to be exciting. Anyone, complaining or setting momentary obstacles is only informed of the great adventure that lays ahead.

From observation, I have found that this approach works very well. There is always a need to go back and readjust your approach. However, I am positive that if I build an adventure using my imagination and can spark theirs, we will be in for a treat.
